How often do you guys clean/repair/replace/upgrade parts on your computer? And what was the newest thing you got for it?

My computer gets serviced whenever it doesnt work.

Theres so much dust in it right now ...it would freeze and beep and I'd have to reboot

....So I wiped the dust with my hand!
And we all know thats stupid.

I bought ram about a year ago, and a HD about 6 months ago (laptop)
And I reformat completely every 6 months or so....or whenever I get a virus scare. Its always nice to start with a clean slate.

Not even F.E.A.R. comes even close to what Crysis demands. You may as well have said "hell, I can get Solitaire to run, why not Crysis?"

I clean my drives regularly, as for upgrading almost never.

I upgrade when something breaks or I think it is about to break. I have reformatted my own computer rarely just to see if it made a difference because I keep it relatively clean. The family computers need a lot more maintenance. I cleaned my dad's comp with compressed air and was amazed at just how much dust accumulated in two years. We did it outside and it made an enormous cloud of dust. The new case we got has a dust filters on the outside so they are easy to just pull off and clean.

Pretty much never.. cause this one sucks, and I can't care much about it, however if I had a nice computer, I'd clean it and etc every few months, I only ever format if my computer gets a virus or trojan (Don't even bother to remove it, just F-disk.) Or if it just gets sluggish.

New video card 6 months ago. Open and dust every month or two.

BTW: Smoking is bad for your computer. When I used to smoke while playing things inside would get a sticky coating, making it much harder to clean out the dust (and dog hairs, and cat hairs).

Last thing I got for my computer was a new video card last christmas. I haven't reformatted it once since I got it 3 years ago. I plan on doing it after winter break.

We didn't service or upgrade our computer for 3 years because dad was convinced it was still "brand new" and "the best one on the market"That all changed when the large amount of dust in the pc set it on fire.

Lmfao! I could imagine that. I seriously need to dust and get a new video card, but the road-block is I don't have PCI or PCI express, thus not worth getting a new card.

I give my system a dusting out once a month. Parts get replaced when they malfunction, and I scan my drives for malware and make system backups to DVD once a week.

The newest thing I got my my primary system was a new PSU. The old one gave up the ghost after 3 years of intensive use and was given a burial (with honours) in my component graveyard.

I just built a new system in July. Reformatted it once when something in vista started acting stupid and decided that was faster than troubleshooting. Blew out the dust a couple time but it's due for that again. Next step is to sli in another 8800gts.
